Shower wall question
Hello,
I'm wanting to mount one of the 3 chamber shampoo/soap/etc dispensers that stick to the wall. My question is, the shower walls seem awfully slick so I'm not sure it will stick, are they all like this?
thanks in advance
Bob

Yes they are! Clean the mounting area throughly with alcohol and you should be ok. Several other members have mounted dispensers and I haven’t heard about any falling off. I’ve mounted some 3M hooks in the shower to hang items on and they seem to be ok. Good cleaning prior to installation is important.

I tried to mount a second shower head mount, via the stick method, have only had marginal luck, but our shower wall is somewhat textured. I need to have a grab bar for my wife to use, in our shower, being completely paranoid about going into the walls, I'm having the dealer do it.

We actually mounted our dispenser on the glass portion of the shower walls. Has been there for a year now with no issues.

Good luck with that. The interior walls do not have enough beef to support much of anything. It will be interesting as to how the dealer is going to do this. Let us know.

Depending on where you want the grab bar there are metal studs in the wall for mounting. The plastic walls have no strength or support for anything other than something very lightweight.

The grab bar went on an outside wall, the grab bar is angled so both mounts are connected to a stud. Its quite solid. I also had them mount a shower head slide bar mount, which went on an inside wall, but the tech inserted a backing board behind the wall, so it too is solid.

I had only marginal luck with stick-on shower head mounts, but our shower walls are somewhat textured. I gave up, and went with screwed in fixtures, see post above. It makes that small shower so much more usable.

Yes I mounted a soap/shampoo dispenser direct to the shower wall. Like Dave said alcohol cleaning and install per directions. Don't put any weight on it for several days to allow the silicone to cure.

This is why they put "soap on a rope"...
No shelving needed!

Your dealer must have special tech's working for them. Most have people from Burger King here and they don't stay more than a couple months. Just about every time I stop in this dealer they have a 60% turnover in people.
Glad it worked out for you.

I am fortunate with the tech at the dealer. I always have the same tech work on it, and he, fortunately, takes a real interest and pride in what he does.
