Single valve stem on dually

Our unit is a `19 Vegas 27.7 which we've had for about 3 months.

I've found that the passenger side rear dual tires each have their own valve stem, which seems normal to me.

The drivers side dual tires have a steel braided line connecting the two rims, and ONE valve stem to add air.

It is not anything like the "Crossfire" unit I saw when searching.

My question is, what possible benefit/advantage would this have? Pick up a nail in one and both go flat...seems strange to me.

I will get this "fixed" before our trip to the PNW in late June for sure.

Cheers

That is strange unless there are check valves to keep one tire from deflating when the other one does. But that and the braided connectors seems overly complex to me.

The real question is: Why are the two sides of the MH different?

Easy and faster to check pressure and fill them up. But keep in mind, if one gets a nail and developers a leak you could be screwed.

Some genius in a little dark room decided that this was a way to keep the psi balanced in the dual tires. Sounds like overkill to me. Yes, do get a TPMS.

The Crossfire system is great! Only using a single valve to fill both tires to an equal pressure is a big benefit in my mind on top of keep both tire pressure balanced!

Yeah, that was actually the very first question that crossed my mind.
