Foil Heat Help

Been testing our custom foil window covering.
Sitting in 104 to 115 temps in driveway.
With the inexpensive foil we cut for the windows the average reduction is 35 degrees.
One (1) AC unit in a 26 foot vegas motorhome.
Good luck to the campers.
This is record heat for New Mexico.
Normally 95 high 65 at night.

We leave for our adventure to Big Sky soon.

I cut Reflectix to fit the windshield, driver and passenger windows in our class C. No numbers on temperature reduction... but careful fitting made it block 100% of outside light. Cheap & easy... folds neatly to store in bunk area while traveling.

Yes that is what we used.
I have stubborn relatives that are burning up with this heat
They are looking at 2nd AC or putting a fan and screen in the rear emergency window 🪟.
This stuff works great.

Best to keep the heat outside
So outer coverings like Magnashade or Shademaster.
Front and front-side windows work best
Others if you plan on parking for extended periods

That said…
It’s a metal box you’re trying to keep cool

You are correct - blocking the heat source before it passes inside through windows is far more effective for cooling. In our case, the intent is privacy and light blocking. Our preference is to travel/camp where temperatures are ideally below 80° and humidity is relatively low. Not for everyone, but that's how we roll.
