There are some valve stems that will not accept extensions or TPMS sensors. Freightliner is installing them under a safety recall.

Just use red loctite, you'll never have to worry about it again. Iol

Gave Up On Tire Valve Extensions

I finally gave up. Our 2022 Chteau 25V (Ford e-350) came with extensions installed. The right outer tire would not maintain pressure, losing about 10 pounds a day. Traced the problem to the valve stem extension. After tightening, retightening and filling the tire every other day, I finally gave up and removed the extension. Haven't had a problem since.

Good for you. You found the problem and a simple solution. I too had researched all the new and cool (some very pricey) methods to keep my 7 rv tires at the proper pressure. All sounded good yet if just one fails the outcome ranges from annoying to down right catastrophic. For me at my age pulling the wheel simulators and screwing In an extention to check tire pressures is a struggle for sure but 7 less things to go wrong. Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one.

This has been an inexpensive solution for us

Oddly, the TPMS (factory installed by Ford) is unaffected by the presence or lack of a valve extender. It works fine with or without them. I must assume the transmitter is located inside the wheel and tire.

You are correct. The TPMS Ford uses employes a sensor inside the wheel. My friend works at a tire shop and told me how they required an expensive programming system each time a tire is removed they require reprogramming. I don't recall all the details but I'm sure a tire guru is among us to elaborate.

When my F150's internal TPMS sensors lost their battery power we had to replace the entire sensor as the batteries are sealed into those specific units. Did the work ourselves since we had the tools.

We used the Ford programmer shown below. Buy it on Amazon. Only programs specific TPMS not many different type like a tire shops expensive programmer does. Only need to program a sensor when 1st installed and when you rotate the tire to a new position. If programmed as the front right tire it will show as that tire until you reprogram the sensor.

Inexpensive might be a stretch but our rigs are like our second loves and new cool gadgets are well like a requirement sometimes. If it's too expensive we can always make payments right?
Hey the gov't does it all the time just following their lead as a good American....

The US gov'ment, like any deadbeat, has no intention of EVER paying their long-term debts. Just repeatedly and continually refinance - forever.

I'm about to buy a TPMS system that costs $70 for 4 tires.
The cost is low because it integrates with my Xtrons in-dash media player. One less box on the dashboard.

The transmitters are external. Easy to install but also easy to steal. I wonder how long the batteries will last. I hope they only transmit when the receiver is listening.

Would anybody like to talk me out of it?

Staying on topic, I also wonder whether the transmitters will introduce a new point of air leakage? At least I will know about it quickly.

Humm. Judging by the picture in your post it appears these were designed for front/rear install. Not sure they work properly on dually setup unless of course you don't have dual rears. Just a thought.

I have them on my motorhome and they didn't leak on my old one and they don't leak on the new one. Don't forget to put on the lock nuts or buy them and put them on. It will only keep kids from taking them

That is true in most cases, and I thank you for your concern.

But, I have the Crossfire equalization system installed. So, I have only four inflation points.

It would be nice if the Xtrons system would cover 6 or 8 or 10 tires so I could monitor my boat trailer or tow dolly but, sadly, it is limited to just 4. For $80, I'll take what they're offering.
