What is this?

I'm putting the pieces together to install a solar system on top of my 2016 Citation 24SR, and I came across this Gizmo on the roof.

Is this some sort of a port to let solar panel wires through the roof? If so what's the best way to remove the goop and access the screws or holes?

First determine if dicor based or silicone based.
Carefully scrape it off.
When done, YOU must use the same goop.

You could open a can-o-worms. Even after spending the time and effort to get at it, you may find the wires are ran through the ceiling with not enough room to fish solar cables.

I would suggest looking for a route down through the reefer vent if possible. Install the proper MC4 connectors on the roof... use Eternabond tape to secure any loose cables to the roof for a neater job

Thanks for the replies folks! All very helpful.
Turns out that little Gizmo is directly over the fridge and right next to the fridge vent / chimney. There is a nice access chase which serves both the refrigerator and AV / satellite needs. I don't need or want satellite, as I have Starlink but there's plenty of room for solar cables and it provides a convenient access route to the batteries!
I don't think I will try to open that particular panel, but rather install the solar bulkhead which came with my renology kit enclosed proximity to the satellite port.
Thanks for the suggestion about the eternabond tape, I was wondering how I was going to secure the cables to the roof.
