We lead a pretty charmed life.
This is a
'Pictures or it didn't happen'
Type statement:
We had the Henry Ford Museum and village just about to ourselves.

It was Full hookups, we just don't use them often.
We filled with water as we were leaving, recoiled their nice hose with the expensive regulator and gauge, and off we went.

The night before last was in kansas.
There were two fifth wheels next to us, but they were not home during our stay.
We never saw them.

All it took was shutting down the US oil industry in January. Will not get better for a while. Premium is $4.50 Diesel $3.80 in Oregon and Washington and California a dollar a gallon higher. The interstate out here are the lowest prices.

How on earth are you keeping it so clean while traveling? I don't see a bug anywhere and the coach looks recently waxed? Are you getting all the people around you at each site to help pitch in to clean or what?

We've been so lucky with the back roads. Take a look at the little road we travelled today. Its perfect.
The problem with us stopping at places like the worlds largest ball of twine is we've pretty much been there done that, at about every attraction west of the Mississippi.
We're headed to detroit and Henry ford Museum for the second time in our lives. We seldom go to the same place twice unless kismet and the coin toss dictates, but Henry ford is remarkable.
We're somewhere between Chicago and Detroit tonight, I dont know exactly where but I suspect Michigan.
3,000 miles just turned over.
We've paid for three nights so far.
$12
$20
$7
Never a reservation 24 hours in advance, never a problem.
It cost me $100($78+tip included a fifth of their in house made vodka) at the brewery we're staying at, but the food was excellent.

You left the most important part out. How was there Vodka?

It's amazing how much stuff a 24.1 holds.
And
I've added about 12cft of added storage.
I could have loaded twice this many antiques and collectables.
Nothing was in the coach, all was in the bins.
The chairs were strapped to the ladder, Imogene Coca style.
The t-bird had to be delivered because I couldn't find an enclosed trailer to buy.
I misread the adv for the car and thought is was in Louisiana (la). Nope it was in Iowa(ia)in a town just outside of the hwh headquarters, our only place to be during the entire 5,900 mile trip. The car wasn't a mile out of our way, and we stayed at the sellers hanger for the night.
karma/charmed life. I had bid on it earlier in the week and was planning on going to louisiana to pay/see it during this trip.
I collect 1962 stuff. The car was built Halloween day 1962.
Everything is finally unloaded...except my black and gray tanks.....
Total problems along the way:
1 two screws came iff a cabinet hinge that has three screws in it, so nothing happened.
2 the overheat interrupt circuit on the macerator needs removed. It runs for 5 seconds and off for 10 seconds, taking about 10 minutes to drain the tanks.
3 hwh cannot overcome my 4 inch lift. I have the stuff to do it myself.

1972 minimum wage was $1.60
Gas was 38 to 55 cents.
That's $3.80 to $5.50 today...and it isn't.
When your dad paid 20 cents what were wages?
Gas is maybe cheaper now.
(I remember a 9 cents per gallon gas war in Tucson in the early 60's. 11 cents was too often to be memorable.)

fair point. It is an interesting perspective shift any time you start looking at cost of something today compared to some other time.....
I could be wrong, I've not dug into the weeds about it.... but I don't think the legal minimum wage is a good measure to use. I seriously doubt if the criteria used to define that number today is even remotely close to what it was back in the day. The two numbers probably don't mean the same thing

It's not so much the gap between wages and the price of gasoline... or any commodity for that matter. The focus should be on why the "system" requires the price/wage hike games? Anyone who's even briefly studied economics knows the answer.

I have been through chihuahua Mexico extensively.
I've been to where all(ok, not all, but to the communities where they are prolific) the witches live there.
I've been all through baja.
I've been through parts of Texas where even Mesquite and cactus won't grow.
I've been through Mexican Water and White Rock(look them up).
I've been on the road from flagstaff to Farmington 200 times.
I know the Mohave from Kingman to Yuma to the Salton Sea to Chloride City like most of you know the way to your grocery store.
...
So I know ugly when I've seen it.
There may be no place on earth as ugly as Wyoming on the far side of Flaming Gorge.
Just some pics in no order or particular state.

Couldn't help but notice the "2013" Rand McNally Road Map. I got one too and still like it better than all my electronic gear.
