For those that have a sickle or a trike, what have you found to tow those with you? I actually have both and I am not looking for enclosed trailer.
A few years ago, when we had a 5th wheel, I was looking at a platform that mounted to receiver hitches that would haul either type of sickle or even golf carts. I am not sure that company is still in business since I can't find them any more. So now I am looking for another solution for taking one of my rides with me. I am just not interested in a trailer or enclosed trailer at this time.
What is the weight of your bike/trike? And how does that compare to the tongue weight on the Axis hitch?? How far below GVWR are you today?
I’ve seen rigs like that on large DP’s - but not on a 350/450 chassis.
BTW, I have already read the scooter thread and I did not see anything in it that would work for me. Both rides are 800#'s or more. My oldest ride is a VTX 1800R and the newest is a Freewheeler.
I haul my 2003 GL-1800 Gold Wing on an Alumna (brand) trailer with under-the-bed pull out ramp. Can also be used for golf cart or two two-wheelers. $4k new.
Previously I used a 6x10 angle-iron trailer with drop-down ramp. You can probably find one on e-bay or craiglist for about $1.5K new or $900 used.

Nice rides... I expect a trailer is going to be the viable option. At 800 lbs I expect you are already over the Axis hitch tongue weight... (I expect it is a 500 pound limit) and nothing holding it there yet.
The Axis can easily tow a trailer carrying your ride.
Iron Horse builds what is arguably the best motorcycle trailers around...
But they are enclosed, and pretty darn expensive!
But your rides are worth it!

The only way to go with the RV you have is a trailer. We have an enclosed trailer that we haul our Gold Wing in. Motor home does not even know it is back there going down the road.
[QUOTE=Tejas;196590]Master Chief Bridgers, Would you mind showing me your setup?
Just saw your request and rather us end up playing "50 questions" here's a link to the folks at Aluma trailer. I installed a wheel chock as well as two 5.56 ammo cans - one on each side of windshield. I use them to stow my tiedowns and odds 'n' ends.
Got the cans from Harbor Freight. Spray painted them R/W/B and added 3 stars.
Now that its daylight went out and took attached photos of the trailer for you.
Mine was already equipped with anchor points that fold level with the bed of the trailer when not in use.
The "red things" behind my tiedown storage boxes are 2-gallon Rotopax gas cans. The Rotopax are sturdy and fit behind the storage boxes with plenty of room to spare (only couple inches thick).

Roger on Iron Horse. Molded Fiberglass 1 piece cover over the bike.
I want one to pull the wing in but not willing to part with 7 grand for it.
I have a closed in haulmark trailer but hesitate to pull it behind the MH. I do pull it behind the truck so the MH should be fine.
Just will be in a pickle should I get in a situation that would require I back the MH up.
That dog won't hunt.

This is the set up I have. I too have a Goldwing I pull behind the truck.

I'm guessing this would also drag the fuel millage down from the wonderful area of 8mpg to 5. (GRIN)

Fair winds and following seas shipmate
I like this for weight reduction but hate to have the bike exposed to the elements while pulling.
I have seen this problem with toads and it's not good.

Elements!!! I ride in all kinds of weather (rain, snow, hot, cold) and my trike is no worse for wear than pulling behind my MH. Heck, even the muddy Can-Am highway construction sites' mud washed off my trike with ease. It's all about the paint finish.
Will venture to guess the toads you're alluding to either didn't have a hulu skirt hanging from the towing vehicle's rear bumper or a rock shield on the towing rig to knock down road debris. My trailer it has a rock shield that prevents most rocks and debris from doing any damage.
