I've owned 6 DRV's starting with an 2008. First 4 all had G5 bolts and NO label at all. Last 2 have had G8 and had the mentioned label. Never had a problem with any of them.

It is 5 or 6 per side, although you COULD use 5 or 6 total but who would think to do that, any why? And the label does say "per side".

I completely agree with walker's comment on the strength of the bolts.

The factory bolts are 5/8", not 3/4" but the clamping force should be fairly close to the same.

I had intended to change my pin box to an Lippert air ride and get rid of the MorRyde, but the air ride only goes to 21,000 lbs regardless of the bolts and my Santa Fe weighs 24,000 lbs.

Well I have been pulling my 23k DRV for 3 years now with a 21k TrailAir TriGlide with no issues. Did upgrade to 3/4 frame bolts and grease ALL 9 ZERKS with AMZ/OIL Synthetic grease often.

porkchop maybe it would have handled 24k just fine.

Pics from large triple axle DRV. Interesting, upper left new bolt is GR5 and all others are GR8 as they should be!!!

Would think the G5 bolt is owner-added?

That would be my guess. Saw a hole and filled it.

What I thought was strange to go to the trouble of adding a bolt and not matching what was already there.

Probably true. Also not painting the bolt is just not right!

Did he put another bolt on both sides?
