Factory GM Camera Install

Well I'm trying to mount my GM trailer camera on my Houston. To start with the cable is only 59' and with 8' to match my trailer wire to the truck that leaves about 10' for routing. I thought about mounting it at the top just below the center marker light and routing the cable on the roof. I didn't like that idea so I decided to mount it just below the back window. My question is can you drill a hole and route the wire inside the back wall to the floor. then i would just run to the front on top of the plastic flooring which doesn't look to hard to drop on one side. I know they make wireless systems but I'm trying to use the factory one so I don't have another item on the dash. I wish someone would make one that would work with the factory setup.

Yea don't get the constantly looking at the center screen instead of your mirrors.

My main concern was not for traveling but setup. I generally travel by myself and backing in my driveway and setup at campgrounds is where it helps. I used to drive a truck so mirrors and no back window doesn't bother me. I have less than 2' overall clearance on the sides backing in my driveway which doesn't bother me. My problem is I have got about a 6" window between hitting in the back and closing my gate. Plus I already have the camera from a previous trailer so why not install it.
