Light Bulb Removal?
One of my lamps has burnt out on the pendant above the sink. I reached up inside tried to unscrew, push twist and pull. So I tried twisting again and the base the lamp is attached to starts to come loose. I can't grasp the base and lamp at the same time.
Any suggestions?

My island fixture looks just like yours. May not meen anything though.
On mine the lamps just pull straight down and out, no twisting required. Can't remember the lamp # though. Replaced those three lamps with LED.
Good luck
Bill

I finally removed one of the good lamps. They are the automotive type #1076. They twist and pull down. Once i figured it out I tighten the base more on the bad lamp then twisted the lamp and pulled down.
Thanks for the reply Porkchop, it got me looking more and then figured it out.
Thanks!
I will look for LED replacements. Anyone have a number that has worked well?

That fixture can take a 1142 or 1076 style of bulb. I usually get mine here:
Super Bright LED's

Thanks for the link. What LED do you think is best for my application?

I would use one of the two tower bulbs to get 360 degree light output. The normal output of an 1142 bulb is 260 lumens, the 1076 has 400 lumens. The brightest tower bulb is putting out 230 lumens and will be a little dimmer than what you have. The 1076 bulbs are known for burning out in these fixtures...

Thanks! I will stick with the 1076, I don't want to have less light.

All 3 of our bulbs burned out within the first week. I found replacement bulbs at NAPA, changed the bulbs out and haven't lost one since. The factory bulbs in these fixtures aren't very good (to say the least!)

Mine are not 1076, but a 2 prong bayonet style. The LED's I put in are brighter than the orirginals.

Speaking of light bulbs, how would one go about taking off the little glass covers over the LED lights? I feel like I'm gonna break the things when I pull on them.

You just grasp and twist! One thing everyone should do is make sure they are tight, I had one fall off and drop on the Quartz top.

Bulbs
Replaced the 1076 bulbs with the same type until I can get the LEDs.
I put them back in using the Dielectric grease. Going to see if this helps getting them back out. Will have to wait and see. Will let you know later.

Bulbs
I replaced my 1076's with LED1142--W15 12-volt DC white bulbs.
They are not as bright as the 1076's.
I think it helped to put the Di-electric grease on the bulbs seems like it helped to get them in and out.
