Hello

Beachgirl425 saying hello...new member. John Ard and I have just recently retired and got out 2014 Thor 29.2’ ACE and have plotted our 6-7 week cross-country trip leaving out of Bluffton, SC around June 15th...would love suggestions of great RV resorts and “must see” places other than the obvious National Park highlights. Thanks!

Welcome aboard from KS! Congrats on retirement. Couple places on on your way out of SC. Checkout Hunting Island state park near Beaufort, SC. Also Checkout Tablerock state park near Greenville. Cheers, Mark

All depends on how you intend to go "cross country", strictly interstates or sightseeing routes.
And in my opinion 6-7 weeks isn't much time to go very far "cross country".
From our full-time experience stopping at a different spot, hooking/unhooking daily gets old really quick.
An old timer told us when we first retired to travel 2x2x2, travel 200 miles, stop by 2pm & stay 2 days, which is not a bad plan.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your retirement! You'll get more and better suggestions when you share where you are heading and your interests. There are great people, great places and great campgrounds all over.

Some folks are planners, some are wanderers. You'll find a style that fits you best.

Happy trails!

We're so glad that you found us!
Congratulations on finally winning the rat-race, and now being able to enjoy yourselves. You're going to have a GREAT time on your trip: be sure to take lots of pictures for the rest of us who still have to work...

We were a bit of both, we planned on a destination then just headed that direction sort of wandering. Would do the same again.
If you're retired why limit it to 6-7 weeks? Go enjoy!
