Cool Newbie needs help

My husband and I just purchased our very first RV--Class C, 2016 Thor Four Winds with 6000 miles on it. When the mechanic showed us how things work the leveling system seem to work but now we get an error alert that says "Error Retract Timeout" Return Leveler for Service. Can anyone please tell me if there is something we can do before returning for service. We hadn't even put the levelers down since bringing it home.

A little background: we found the original owner of the RV and talked with him. He's 85 and just had the RV a little while before trading for something bigger. He told us about a button or toggle switch under the steps into the house part and said something about it having to do with the camera (his wife said levels so we don't know who was right). Anyway, we couldn't get the backup camera to work and so hubby did something to the switch under the step. We finally figured out that you have to have the house battery on for the backup camera to work but now we can do anything with the leverlers. Did we do something with that switch that causes this error?

Try start engine, hook to power, either shore or genny then try level once more. Set emergency brake

Got it fixed

Thanks for your suggestion. I did find someone else on this forum that had the same problem and the suggestion was to press the Enter and Retract button on the control panel at the same time. That did the trick, thank goodness!

I had that happen too and that is how you clear it glad you got it. On a side note if you get a ever get a low voltage message and your jacks will not retract check the breaker in house battery compartment I had that happen as well
