Yes. Exactly my point. Not all flat-towable cars seem to be listed in that guide.

We haven't had an issue storing it: It tucks under the back of the motorhome quite nicely--even at our storage lot. At some campgrounds with pull-throughs I simply leave it connected.

So far I've been able to move it around by myself without too much trouble (even going uphill) but, yeah, I could see a day when that just isn't possible anymore.

Tucked under: (This was a really small site at Cherry Hill Park in Maryland)

(When looking for pictures that included the dolly: many of them I couldn't even see it back behind the RV. Also note: two different cars.)

Yeah it works for us; they certainly aren't for everyone that is for sure.

Cheap tow car is relative

As a full time RVer, I only wanted one car, Period. When not towing, I want a good, solid SUV under 5000 pounds and did major research. I came up with a Buick Envision (2017) which I can drive the Baja with confidence and yet tow it behind my Thor Axis. Was the Buick cheap? Nope, but with only one car I don't have to support two. So, Cheap is relative to lifestyle.

Since our Toad rides on it's own "throne" {12' Aluma Trailer): we simply opt for "pull-through" sites.

I bought a 2001 Chevy Tracker for $4100. V6, 4 wheel drive with transfer case. Automatic trans. It had a Roadmaster base plate, I bought a used Roadmaster Falcon tow bar and a Readybrake system (hence I was in for about $700 total). The car already has a plug for the lights, but the magnetic Mickey Mouse ears work fine. It weighs about 2800 lbs, tows easily, and is a decent off roader. I like to fly fish, it’s great for getting to the stream.

I have been towing a 2004 Jeep Wrangler sport 5 speed manual for over six years.
So easy to set up. Put transmission in first gear and put the transfer case in neutral. Make sure the front tires are not locked and off you go.
