24.1 Should I go 2018 or 2019
Hello I am looking to purchase a Thor 24.1 Vegas, what’s the pros and cons of 2018 and 2019. I know the basics but is there any problems with control panel on the 2019? I’ve dug through all the old post, just looking for first hand experiences.
Also if anyone has a 24.1 they’re looking to sell, please let me know.
Thanks!!
James

Think about paying a bit more for a 2021 Axis 24.1. The new 7.3 V8 that it comes with is better in all respects over the V10. Although the V10 is a good engine too, the V8 is more efficient. The new V8 comes with a better handling chassis as well.
The only downside is the BMPro control system which is a love/hate situation, the Girard tankless water heater, the crappy installation of the bigger dash display, possibly a compressor fridge, ……
Well, maybe stick with a 2018/2019.
David

Thanks David!
Unfortunately 2020 and up are out my budget, I like the 2021 and newer but the used market is slim. Thanks for the pointers on the v8.

Pre-Covid construction has its values as well. Everyone is still struggling with help..."qualified help" is no longer a requirement in most cases. We have 5 Star dining places here putting out food no better than Golden Corral. Quality of construction is the most important. Not sure of your history with RV's or your mechanical ability to fix things but all of them will come with their own drama. Newer chassis technology is always great. If everything behind the driver's seat craps out...the chassis will still pull all of it home. Seems you're in the used market...just check everything out multiple times. Good luck with this one.

We’ll put, we are definitely in different times. Luckily I’m still young and mechanically capable. I believe in good research and due diligence before any big purchase. I appreciate the suggestions!

We still love our 2018 Vegas with the V-10 and E-450 chassis. Even with all the never ending maintenance issues and upgrades that were IMO necessary, we are still very much enjoying the RUV out on the road about 6 months of the year!
Please make sure you have a copy of Ed Felkner's owners manual (thanks again ED) in hand when checking out the used Thor's. Best of Luck!

Availability in the used market will increase as the recession gets deeper. The lower fuel prices is likely just a political ploy so expect rises as summer approaches. Be willing to travel a distance for a good one. Since anything in those years has no house warranty, where you buy makes no difference.
