On a 29M anyone know where the brake controller wire is?

On a 7-pin trailer plug there is a standard wiring of which pin 2 is the brake controller (electric brake) connection.

From reading some of the posts, it appears that Thor does not install a brake controller. Is this correct? Anyone know where I can find where this wire on the 29M?

I want to "steal" it for another purpose other than using it for a brake controller.

Once again, a year of your coach would be helpful. Is it a 2022? Or a 2014?

The year is on my profile, so I'm surprised that this Forum doesn't show it.

I think it's a good idea to let people know the year of the coach, so I added it to my model.

Thanks!

Actually, now that I think about it, that fuse probably supplies the +12VDC to the brake controller pigtail. The actual brake application wire should just terminate in the controller pigtail.

Without knowing the year of your MH, it's maybe not the same as our 2022 Windsport 29m. But that being said, the brake control wiring is enclosed in a baggie to the left of the base of the steering column. The pigtail for actually hooking the controller to the MH wiring was located at the bottom of the new owner documents bag supplied by Thor.

The year of my MH is on my profile, which I just covered in the above post.
I took a look and there is no baggie.

That link to the documentation is priceless. What I need to do is get my labeler out and label them all.

I think I may have found the plug for the controller. Is this it?

But this is strange to me...I connected a "wire tracer" to the brake controller pin on the 7-blade connector on the coach and was expecting to hear a signal at the connector shown below and I got nothing.

Then I went back to the connector on the trailer to see if I get any signal out of the wiring harness itself behind the c7-blade connector...and again nothing. Yet, I could hear the signal connected to the pin.

I thought maybe I could pull off the rubber cap on the back of the 7-blade connector, but geesh...I gave up for fear of ripping it.

Take your multimeter, with the coach running, find which lead is supplying power. You will not have any power to the plug at the receiver without a brake controller plugged into that pigtail. You may be able to fashion a jumper to use in that pigtail.

.

It's really not a good idea to be applying power to a pin when you have no idea where it's going or a good chance of shorting something out.
It's better to just check for any voltage on the pin and then ground it and then check the other end to see if it is also grounded. Or even better...if you have a wire tracer.
