Are all of these ads the price of RVLIfe hosting this Forum?

Every time I click to view a fellow member post there is many embedded ads in the thread.

Last one I just saw was " Stop Wiping Your Butt". And many other advertisements.

Is this a setting on my browser or is everyone getting these?

Install an ad blocker in your browser and it'll block the inline ads. You'll only get the four videos at the very bottom.

"Install an ad blocker"...
Do you just download one?
Do you have one that you'd like to suggest?

Hi Bob:
Like most things in life, it depends (and I don't mean undergarments).

I use something called Adblock Plus. Works well on Chrome and Windows 10. You download and install it. (Can't remember the exact steps but it wasn't difficult.)

They say it works with Firefox - but don't know. Not sure about Macs or mobile devices either.

So far, it has blocked over a million ads aimed at me. Some sites are getting smart and won't show you the content until you disable it. Then, I decide how much I want to see the content. (I've also "whitelisted" some sites I want to support by viewing their ads.)

AdBlock Plus for Chrome works well. Just responding to this thread the counter says it blocked 3 ads.

The problem now is some websites will detect the ad blocker are not let you read their pages with it enabled. Weather.com and a lot of news sites have started doing this a lot.

Yes, just added it to my Chrome browser and seeing which of my regular sites will detect it.

So far just weather.com as you mentioned.

But its working great in this site!

My phone runs on Chrome, and my desktop unit uses IE11,Chrome, and plain old Google.
I'll give Adblocker Plus a shot: thanks!

EASY AD Blocker just stopped 10 for me. Never see ads on this site or any other RV site I go to.

I also use Adblock Plus in Chrome and Firefox on Windows. AdBlock Plus has been around for more than a decade. Sorry for not mentioning which one or how to get one.

There are a fair number of news sites, even some major ones, that will detect it and ask you to turn it off. Many smaller local news sites won't let you in at all if you don't turn it off. Ads are often a primary source of revenue for them.

In those situations, you usually get the option of whitelisting the entire website or just the individual page you want to view. 99% of the time, I specify just the page.

I've been using Ad Blocker Plus for several years, and really like it
