Awning during rain

New owner quedtion.
I have a 2013 ace 30.1 with an electric awning.
Can you tip one side of the awning some how for rain run off or will it automatically tip on its own when water build up?

Tip one side by pulling down at the end corner. Some brands have clamps. My 2010 Montana had clamps to tighten the ends depending on which way you wanted to tilt. My 2015 and 2017 Thors you just pull down on the end you want to lower.

Hmm, I hope the awning on my Challenger does that! How do you get it to return to original position, does it go back naturally when you retract it?

Yes, adjustments depend on the brand of awning, Carefree has a button on each arm, Dometic has knob to loosen, Google your brand to find the proper way, most once adjusted can remain in that position & still roll up. They all come from the factory flat, no pitch, which doesn't allow water run off or much shade.

On my awning 2017 ACE there are adjustment holes with spring loaded push in pins to adjust the awning. I have not tried but I would think by moving one pin to highest and other to lowest would work. I will have to try, remember to bring pins back to same position before retracting awning.

Our 2015 ACE 30.1 has the Carefree with push pin adjustment and indicates it may be out of level by IIRC 1 or 2 pin positions and still roll up. I adjusted ours to the maximum pitch and it is plenty to let the rain run off without tilting. Jim.

Check to see which brand and model of awning you have. There are several videos on YouTube that explain how to make adjustments to tilt the awning for rain. Thor also has a couple of videos on how to set the tilt on an awning.

I figured out my Challenger has the Carefree Eclipse awning, and the method is quite simple for changing pitch. Just push in the two locking pins on the arm and change position (6 sets of holes) then repeat on other side. It cautioned not to have more than a 3-position difference between the two sides. For awnings 12' or under, no more than 1 or 2 positions, but mine is 16'. And as others said, I can leave them at that pitch and roll it in and out, no problem!

Thanks for the info everyone.
