we've rarely used our front bunk for actual sleeping, and mostly for storage...
we drilled a hew hole on each side of the rail housing, about 8" down from the factory holes, and now the bunk can ride safely in a lowered and more useful height...
never been an issue in over 50,000 miles of travel...
