Four Winds AC

Why does the generator have to be on to run the ac in the back while driving. Thor Four Winds.

That is a loaded question but I am not gonna give you the answer I am thinking. A/C is 120 volts. It must be plugged into shore power or generator to run. Yes you can run it while driving with the generator on. Your 12 volt battery can not power a 120 volt A/C

How else would you supply the 110v needed to run the a/c while you are driving.

I guess you could get a flat bed trailer and load it up with batteries and some solar panels.

GREETING and Welcome

If your worried about running the generator while driving, don't be.
Uses about 7tenths gal an hour.

One big issue with newer Onan generators, they (we've had 2 that do it) will shut down from hitting even medium sized bumps in the road.
We do as has been suggested keep the oil level a little low and checked often.

Again welcome and keep the questions coming
