Fridge only working on propane...breaker flipping, outlets not working....
2014 hurricane, only works on propane... I have checked fuses at the back of fridge.. they are fine. The other issue not sure if related is I have a few plugs that are not working and when I check my breaker box one breaker is half flipped. Its labeled general receptical. I tried to flip it back but it keeps getting flipped.... I tried the bathroom gfi and it was fine. I am at a loss.
I am no mechanic etc. but would love to figure this out vs. paying rv place 144 bucks per hr to do it!!
Thanks all! KIM

When a breaker trips you have to switch it off and then back on to get it to stay on. You can't just push it to on.

Yup; just like the ones in your house...
It's not so much that a breaker tripped: WHY did it trip??

Try shutting off your refrigerator and see if you can reset the tripping breaker. If it still trips you have a short in your wiring on that circuit. Unplug anything you have plugged into the outlets. The gfi outlets are on a different circuit. If it resets and holds, turn your refrigerator back on to see if it trips. You need to find the short, it can lead to a fire NEVER hold the circuit breaker closed! Good luck

All modern circuit breaker work this way: on, off, tripped. If tripped, you must turn it completely OFF before reengaging the ON position. This action resets the spring to the thermostatic catch in the circuit breaker. If too much amperage flows through the catch, it heats up and releases the spring. These are slow trip circuit breaker mostly used with electric motors. The most common circuit breakers have a magnetic fast acting trip. A large current over a short time (direct short) will also trip the circuit breaker. This is what you have, as it is the most common. Lastly there is a new arc-fault circuit breaker. They are quite expensive ($30-$40) but are the best out there, as they will prevent most electrical fires. There are also the GFCI main breakers made to go into the power distribution box. I like them much better than the ones that fit into the duplex receptacles in the bathroom.

Sometimes this indicates a bad AC heater element in the hot water heater.
For some unknown reason the RV makers will put both the refrig and hot water heater on the same breaker.

I unplugged the fridge, unplugged electric, then flipped breaker plugged back in went and checked and it was immediately flipped again. Could it be my extension cord? its old and I noticed one place where you plug in is looking rusty... its a 30 amp extension cord.

It must be something in the wind...
I'm sourcing new plugs for my 100 foot extension cord right now...
But I don't think that yours would flip just one breaker: it would take out an entire panel.
Try cleaning up the male prongs with some sandpaper, and see if that helps.

Thanks.. I was thinking same thing, if it was the cord.. it would be affecting more than just that one breaker! There is no power to the fridge plug and several other plugs. One by my bed, the front one under lap top area... but I think others are working. I only can find one gfi plug and its in the bathroom. It is not tripped.
UGH.. I hate to pay them to fix it but looks like I am going to have to... those rv repair people love me!!

This is really not that dissimilar; to the wiring in a house...
Do you know any electricians?
They might be easier to get an appointment with.
EDIT: A stray thought just landed in my head: start checking for loose connections in the circuits that are associated with the breaker that keeps popping...
