Soft Start?

Hi, we have 3 heat pumps on our roof, my question is if I'm plugged into 30 amps can I use just one pump without the need for a soft start?

All things being considered and depending on what other electrical demand you have on, yes you can.

One A/C or heat pump should only use 11 to 17 amps when loaded so well within the 30 amp capability as long as you don't run other heavy loads like the electric water heater element and/or the microwave. Basically the same as any 30 amp RV with a single A/C unit.

If using a extension cord, make sure it’s heavy enough. Those orange ones are only good for about 12 to 16 amps

I have a 10ga cord rated for 20A. It’s orange.

OP says they’re plugged into 30 amps which should be 50 amp cord with dog bone.

OP, is this a campground pedestal with only 30 amp service?
