Mr. Heater Portable Buddy 48574

Does anyone know if this is safe to use inside an RV? Video says don't use above 7,000 feet. Can it be used at 7500 feet?

Since it’s propane fueled, I believe that they are worried about carbon monoxide build-up. Less oxygen at higher elevations may lead to poor combustion creating CO.

Personally I would not use it only during awake hours; but, if I did I would make darn sure the carbon monoxide alarms are working. Also double check the "knock over-shut down" feature is functioning properly.

My personal choice for extra heat in the RV is an electric space heater with a timer. Great for heating and getting snuggled in for the night.

heater

We do a lot of boonedocking, so electric is not an option. Want something to take the chill out in the morning before getting up.

Well you have to assume there is a reason they tell you not to use a propane heater above 7,000 ft. It’s up to you whether you want to do that or not. If you want to pursue it you might look into finding a different burner orifice calibrated to the thinner air. You would then not be able to use the device at a lower altitude. I doubt the manufacturer will help you for liability reasons but you might be able to figure it out.

So if you can't use Mr Buddy

What's the difference than using your on board propane tanks?

7k altitude the issue?

FYI, Love my Buddy! My portable fire pit when don't have fire ring!
