Agree, if it starts and runs it’s probably ok. But adjustment is easy if you feel like it.

When you stop for the night open your basement doors and air out the compartments. You'll be surprised hot much heat is retained in the basement. All that heat will rise into the living space. In addition, if you're parked on asphalt or concrete, hose down the area under your coach to keep that heat from radiating upward into the coach.

Thanks for these tips. Opening the basement doors to air them out perfectly make sense, when we stop for the night. As well as hosing down the ground if cement or asphalt. It might initially give off heat. But it will eventually be cooler.

I went to Home Depot this afternoon and purchased 3 rolls of these Reflectix. I made an exact size cut out for all of my windows. That should help deflect the heat from the sun during the daytime drive. I saw someone from this forum who also made a "partial cover" for the driver and passenger side windows. I might do something similar.

Applying cool water to a hot surface will not create any heat. There will be the direct cooling followed by evaporation cooling.

I told my wife I don't want to pull the slides out for the same reason, and a fear of slide out mechanism breaking down.

It is the HEAT the worries me. Especially with the 2 dogs.
Level it before running slides out. Hold button for a 5 count after the slide is fully extended or retracted. Shouldn’t have a slide problem if you do the afore mentioned.

How about my question on the Generator adjustment as you drive through higher elevation? Do you adjust the Generator setting?
I don’t have to adjust mine when in mountains of NC.

Are there any campsites up near the peaks?

The top of this peak looks nice and cool...

We used to have a 32 ft Class C. Smaller area to cool down. But this Class A have a much bigger area to cool down.

Any tips? We are travelling with 3 people and 2 dogs. I know we cant make the cabin cold. But NOT at over 100 degrees.
We used a pressure rod and blackout curtains to keep the cab cool. Keep your generator running as you travel until you find cooler temps. Safe travels

My better half was going crazy last time we were in the RV and it was 105 degrees outside. I thought that we were doing well with one AC at 80 degrees inside.
She went to a local hardware store and got one of those cheap plugin floor fans. She then got a bag of ice at the campground office, put the ice in a large bowl, placed the bowl on a table and placed the fan behind the table. We then had a second air conditioner. I don't think that it did that much good but it seemed to make her happy.

Your 33.1 should fine in the bedroom that air conditioner will keep it cool for sleeping especially if you close the bedroom door. It might get too cold. The main ac takes a long time to cool the front area. We carry a fan and blow the cold air from the bedroom into the front.

This can help, I have insulated pads that slide into the ceiling vent opening. In addition to keeping the windows closed this can help keep the cabin cool. And like others said, run the ac early to get it cool….

We don't have mountains in Dayton, OH.

Just small, little hills.

Tips on keeping cooler during RV road trip!

Get rid of the three other adults and dogs keep the ac running high they should cool the coach. You don’t need the extra body heat.

If you run into any trouble while in Dayton, give me a scream. We live close to the Air Force Base. If you have any time, the Air Force Museum is some of the best free entertainment you can get.
