Tuscany Sewer Hose Question
I have a 2016 Tuscany 40AX. I cannot figure out how to hook up the sewer hose in a way that allows the hose to remain off of the ground. Some states (Texas is one) rewquire that the sewer hose is always OFF the ground. I am open to any and all suggestions. It just exits the coach way too low to get it off of the ground.

I have never heard of any state that requires the hose off the ground. I live in Texas an never heard of it!

Apparently is is the law in Arizona and Florida. It really is a good thing, a stretched out 20' hose can have several gallons of fluid sitting in the sun and cooking if the hose is on the ground.
Now if the parks would stop elevating the drain pipes so that a reasonable Slinky or Sidewinder could allow the hose to drain.

I mis-spoke originally. We have recently been in both Florida and Texas and I recall that Texas made a big deal about it--stating that it is the law to have the sewer pipe OFF of the ground. Sorry for the confusion.

The Vegas is very close to the ground also, but not a problem if you don't leave your hose connected except while dumping. My routine is to pull the hose out each morning, dump, put the hose back in storage & drive off.

By the way, I have a wonderful Sidewinder, but there is absolutely no way I can use it with the way this Tuscany 40AX is designed. Other than simply putting the hose on a 2X6, I cannot figure out how to keep the bloody thing elevated.
I don't think there is an easy solution, but I was just hoping someone had fabricated some sort of low profile Sidewinder.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will begin disconnecting the hose as you suggested. I will also check out that Vegas you suggested.

Sorry MCT1010. I thought the Vegas might be some sort of low profile Sidewinder. I now realize it is another RV. DUH. . .
So far, disconnection every day is the only solution. I plan to write THOR about this issue. Thanks again.

Although it is pricey, here is a possible option.
Robot Check
It's the Flowdown Sewer Hose Support System

That's the poop aqueduct that I have. It's a nice and sturdy supporting system.

Thanks Dan.
That looks like just what I need.
It should keep the poop police away from my door.
Cheers, Mike

Interesting -- as anyone who has ever been to Disney World Fort Wilderness knows the park sewer connection has curbs around it. When I hook up my Vegas the sewer hose ALWAYS just lays on the ground. In walking through various loops I'd bet more than 60% of everyone hooked up has their sewer hose laying on the ground. Park personnel are constantly going through the loops checking on things, and they have yet to tell me the hose cannot lay on the ground. Nothing in the Fort Wilderness says anything either.

I haven't heard of this law before nor seen it posted anywhere. We were at Topsail Reserve SP in Santa Rosa Beach, FL over the X-Mas holidays and my hose was on the ground and no one mentioned to me to do otherwise. The park cleanup crew came to the empty site next to mine to do leaf blowing, etc. while I was outside relaxing and never said anything about it. I always figured those slinkys for the hose were more of a convenience feature to aid drainage when needed. I have one but didn't need it at the site where we were.
Live and learn.
Great campground BTW.

The only parks that have made a posting about hose on the ground that I am aware of is in AZ. Even then I just saw it posted in some, not all park offices.

The only thing I can find in FL law is that an RV drain hose must be self draining with no leaks.

Seems quite reasonable and should be adhered to in all campgrounds.

Dan
When assembled how long is the chute?
The only thing I have seen regarding this issue is some campground rules say to keep the hose off the ground so they are not damaged by landscapers mowing grass or using a weed eater.

Dave,
It comes with 4 sections at about 2 1/2 feet per.
Legs adjust using easy-grip tri-handle knobs to take hose over obstacles
Smooth, 30” half pipe support sections prevent waste buildup and protect the hose
Two pipe connectors can be set to pivot around obstacles
Kit extends to 10 feet; add a second kit for more length.
I am a big fan of this product.
