Figured Out How to Power a Front Fan

I’ve seen a few comments throughout the forums asking why Thor didn’t put a powered fan in the front of a Magnitude/Omni. Well, I figured out how to get power there.
I removed the curtain track and wooden molding, then tapped into a constant 12v source-the push button lights in the overhead bunk. Tucked the wires back into the roof area, then drilled a hole in the fan base and “drilled” out a small channel through the foam in the roof (I used a small wire fishing rod which was only about 10 inches long). Pulled a wire loom and wires through it and viola.
I will be mounting the fan tomorrow. I checked the power and good to go.
Fyi, those wire crimps they used on those push button LED lights, came disconnected by using a very small amount of force. So I redid them with shrink tube crimps.

By the way: is the "generatorless" setup performing as you thought it would?

No complaints as of yet. We haven't had the opportunity to truly boondock for any length of time. But having those dual alternators from the engine really help out.

Great info Thrust! What fan are you going to install? Can you let me know how difficult it was to remove the silicone from atop your rig?

Maxxair maxxfan deluxe with the remote (model 7000K).
I’ve had to remove the dicor from another area and as long as you take your time, it’s pretty easy. I use a vinyl scraper. I’ll have pictures tomorrow.

Cleaning all the previous sealant and butyl tape off was fun, (took me a couple of hours), but here’s the finished product. It looks like it has a light-lets a nice amount of ambient light in. Has a weird pinkish amber color to it from certain angles
