40 ÷ 3 + 6 +1 = 20.33 gallons

So the answer to your question is, your tank will hold however much you can get into it. And once you have X number of posts, you’ll be a “senior” member as well. Then you can ask folks for their model number after posting a 2019 Freedom Elite 30 ft.

Here's the math For 1/3 tank full:
40 gallon fresh water tank divided by 3 = 13.33 gallons
hot water heater = 6 gallons
hot and cold water lines = 1 gallon
fresh water on board = 20.33 gallons
I always travel full water tank, the math is easier.
This might be off topic but I use about 1/2 cup of bleach to sanitize.
Also during the season I keep the tank full, I have chlorinated city water. But I will empty and refill the tank if it sits for 1 month of nonuse

if you can't find your floorplan model number to use for a look-up
you could estimate your capacity
get a bucket of a known capacity....like a three gallon or 5 gallon for example.
open your hose bibb and time it to fill....x gallons per minute
then stick the same hose into your empty tank and time it.... it'll get you pretty close.....

Is that some kind of Canadian measurement? Because he sure doesn't have a 400 gallon tank.

In 30 (or more, I forget) years of RV'ing I have never sanitized a water tank. And I am still here. I drain the tank when I get back and refill before I go. I figure the chlorinated city water is good enough for my uses which do not include drinking water from the tank.

Can you explain what this means: "read 40m gallon"
I Understand that Liberia, Myanmar, and the United States are the only countries that still use the Imperial system vs. Metric.

Hate to disagree, but m is 1/1000th (milli)
M is 1000 (Mega)
So 40 M gallons is 40,000 gallons

To most folks who would Read that without the context.
I'll buy that. I am often wrong and I didn't think twice as I should have. Indeed, the Romans used caps.
But what about this recent generation who thinks m or M means millions and that
Decimate
Means totally annihilate?

I use the kiss formula as well.... 1 cup per each 15 gallons or part there of.....
In our coach that equals 8 cups of bleach.
To introduce the bleach in our closed fill system, I pull the filter elements out of the 2 filter housings, then fill the housings with the bleach..Then bypass the water softener so the fluids go directly into the fresh tank, then continue to fill the tank full up. .... Run the 12v pump to insure that all lines are treated and let sit for 12/24 hours, drain and run filtered fresh water for a long rinse.. Happy trails
Note.... We have the Aqua-Hot diesel fired heat and hot water system..
For the dedicated propane fired system, You may need to do the by-pass on the water heater..

To me the fresh water tank is a waste of space! Have never used it, nor filled it!
But I can tell ya it I were to have to sanitize it for use it would be 1 cup of bleach per 15 gallons of water. For a 40 gallon tank. So…
Dilute 2-1/4 cups of bleach in 2 gallons of water, fill tank 50%, then add solution, continue filling until full. Once full turn on pump and drain tank! Once empty continue filling tank and draining until all signs of bleach have dissipated! NEVER POUR BLEACH DIRECTLY IN YOUR WATER TANK!
Water weighs APPROXIMATELY 8.3lbs per gallon, so 49!gallons weighs APPROXIMATELY 332lbs. A lot of added weight you don’t need!
When traveling it is best to only fill tank with enough water to get to your destination, approx 1/3 tank. Once you get to your destination where you will be boondocking, most fire stations will gladly allow you to top off your tank, as will RV centers!
Just my opinion!

Unless you're using Dollar store diluted bleach that's 4 times as much bleach as you need:
Quote:
Disinfecting your Fresh Water Tank
To clean your fresh water tank
1. Drain and flush out the fresh water tank
2. Remove any water purification equipment and water-filter cartridges
3. Use 1/4-cup of liquid household bleach (sodium hypochlorite) for every 15 gallons of freshwater tank capacity.
4. Pour the solution directly into the fresh water tank.
5. Fill the tank with fresh water.
6. Drive around the block—to cause the bleach solution to slosh all over the inside of the fresh
water tank.
7. Turn on the water pump and all internal faucets to pump the solution through the system to
every hot and cold faucet at every sink, water heater, external faucets. You should smell the
distinct odor of bleach (chlorine) at every fixture.
8. Close all the faucets and turn off the water pump.
9. Let the bleach solution remain in the system for 2–4 hours.
10. Drain and flush the system. Top off the tank with fresh water and go for another drive (to splash
around and wash out the residual bleach). Fill and drain and drive and splash until there is no
more bleach odor

Depends on what branch of science, industry or financial system. It obviously has the potential to be more confusing than all the non-metric systems.
You have the SAE measurement system in the U.S. But if you're measuring the height of a horse you use hands. Counting paper? Use M weight... weight per 1,000 sheets in it's basis size.
Now... if you want to buy that paper in large quantities, it might cost $25k dollars per 1MM sheets.
This is why textbooks are so thick...

Bleach contains NaOh as well as chlorine
Over treatment is an excellent way to pit stainless, erode copper, dissolve glue, and leave residue.
I have never used bleach in 65 years of camping
Be sure of the water quality you fill your tank with
Don't use your black tank rinse hose to fill fresh water tanks
Wipe hose bibs with a sanitizer prior to filling
Keep the tank cap in place
Use common sense
