New trim is very inexpensive.
You replace the trim.
This has been a thing since there was such trim.
It used to turn brown black, develop a texture like sting ray skin, then shrink.
Now it just shrinks.

Really really inexpensive and easy to fix.

I had a Freedom Elite on a E350. The trim on both sides (driver and passenger) shrunk during different cold winters. The first repair, I waited until spring when the temperature rose to the point that the trim would stretch back into the slots. I then sealed/glued into place. The second, I used a hair dryer to soften/stretch back into the slots. Again, I sealed/Glued into place. Never had a problem afterwards.

Easy fix use it as an opportunity to inspect the screws to make sure none of them are rusted or broken off.

On my old class c I used a hair dryer to soften the trim and pushed it back into the tracks. Then I put a couple of self tapping screws in the trim. One on the vertical side and one on the horizontal side of the curve.

Mine shrunk during a snowstorm in West Virginia about 6 weeks after we bought the MH.
I sliced it with a razor knife and it fits fine.
When it gets ugly, I will replace it.

Thanks, everyone. I figured it was shrinkage but it happened virtually overnight.

I just clipped it and glued it in place. The RV is only 3 years old.

My 2020 did the same on both sides about a month ago.
I worked it back in the slots, added some guerrilla glue, duct taped it firmly, waited a few days, and took off the tape (gently).
So far so good.
My TT did the same a few years back.

Same happened on my new RV. Replacement wasn't really an option since mine has full body paint. I pushed it back in after applying some silicone adhesive behind it and used masking tape to hold it in place until the adhesive cured. So far so good.

My 5 month old 2021 Quantum had a little issue with the trim, which quickly turned into the whole thing coming undone as we were driving down the highway. I'm going to see if the warranty covers it. Click image for larger version
