I never got past 'fetching info'. I followed the instructions to the letter.
I later found out, all it does is mimic the Winegard device internal website, it will flip the WAN connection from internal cellular (if you installed a SIM) or connect to a WIFI connection with internet.
Boarderline - useless.
I abandoned the idea of using the Winegard in all but one condition - my hotspot isn't performing (poor signal), my phones won't perform (bad signal) and there is a decent WIFI (campground, public...etc) available that can be seen by the Winegard.
It does pull in WIFI from a good distance, so its not out of the question that it will be used, just not that often.
The problem with the Winegard is not whether it works or not, it works. It's the fact that it will cut your bandwidth by near half, as it goes through the amplifiers inside. It might work better if it had a SIM of it's own. I had the original TOGO unit, came with a $20/month unlimited ATT SIM, that thing was awesome, 70MB/sec downloads driving down the road. I assume it's near the same components in the Winegard, seems to work pretty much the same.
I also added my hotspot as the preferred network connection for the BMPro. I had it forget the Winegard. This allows me to operate the BMPro over the internet with their app.
I use my hotspot in several vehicles, so pulling the SIM (att) and using it in the Winegard won't work for me.
I saw that DirectTV, of all organizations, just came out with a $20some odd dollar/month unlimited plan - won't last long, but if the SIM compatible with the Winegard, I'll give that a try.
