2nd alternator cutting into coolant line?

I think I found where the coolant is leaking from (hope photo is attached).
What is the best plan here - Is there a way to reroute a new hose so this doesn't happen again?

Is there an alternate hose for use when a second alternator is fitted? I know that when the 7.3 Powerstroke is installed in an ambulance with a second alternator, there is a different coolant hose specified.

An easy way to fix it is to loosen the hose clamp above where the hose is being cut and rotate the hose so it is away from the belt, then tighten. But first replace the hose and it’s protective sheath.

But isn’t this a Dodge warranty problem?

It seems as if I've seen this problem before on a youtube video. From what I remember, there are different vendors and one of them has a penchant for damaging a coolant hose.

Note that this indeed has been an issue on the Ram Promaster Thor products. It is not however a Ram issue. It is an installation by Thor.

Search the Class B B+ forum for "Sequence auxiliary alternator". One of the threads with a lot of discussion about the UHG and hoses, etc.

See attached for the UHG mounting bracket and hose/belt routing that was included on my 23 Tellaro. It's dated June of 22 so perhaps it was not finalized on your 22. So far (knock on wood) no issue on mine.

Hard to tell if yours was done that way. However, twisting or adjusting the hose as suggested by others may do the trick but obviously damage should be addressed also. BTW, it may just be the perspective in your pic, but it almost looks like the ribbed belt is off center by a rib or two. Not sure that's even possible, but worth checking.

Good luck.
Mike

You've seen this problem here on this Forum. There's a whole thread on it and how to resolve it that a simple search should easily find.
