God Bless the Promaster 3500 simplicity

One of the greatest things I love about our new Tellaro is the simplicity of the Promaster dash and controls. I know that's going away in the name of "progress".

3 easy knobs for the AC and heat (!!!!). Simple dash to read and navigate. Radio is ok, but you can do the main stuff from the wheel. Priceless.

My other vehicles have the LED dashboard and control "touch screens". Want to turn down the AC? OOPS, you just chilled the left 3rd "zone". Tire pressure? 3 levels of screens down....past the gravitational impact angle analysis screen.....oh man I've always wondered about the temperature differential between the front and rear transaxle gears, but hey it's right there!

Want to turn on the interior lights? Which ones? OOPS that was opera style, dang .....lit up the third row cup holder.....

Not far from the truth.

I could not agree more! We just sold a 2021 VW Atlas with all the tech stuff on the dash. It was in the shop over a month when the computer went down and the backup camera (and everything else tied to the computer) would not work. You did not even have to touch the screen on this one and could just use "gestures". Ridiculous. Glad that car is gone!

The only complaint I have on the Promaster is we can't open the sliding door or the back door from the inside? Outside handles work as they should but back door is a very tight fit requiring a very hard door slam. We tried to find Child Safety Locks without success so wondering if we are just doing something stupid? No mention of Child Safety locks in the manual that we found? Any ideas appreciated and if we don't figure it out goin to the Dodge dealer but thought I would ask in case missing something simple?

Want simplicity? My 2001 Wrangler toad has crank windows and good old fashioned manual door locks. I even have to manually turn on the headlights... and manually shift gears!! .

I sometimes wish I still had my 1969 Opal Kadette. Simplicity at its finest!

YES!!!!!!

I had a 76 Ford Courier that was like driving a tractor but everything was easy. The good old days.

Our Tellaro doors are tricky. You have to pull harder than I think you should have to on the interior side door handle to open it, and sometimes you think it won't open. The back door inside handle is also tricky.

But not impossible....so if you just can't open the doors you may need to see a dealer. These vans have been around forever and are pretty solid dependability wise.

Took to dealer and felt very silly. He was able to open both the sliding door and back door from the inside using the handle. I was afraid to put that much pressure on the inside plastic handle because it felt like it could snap. Working now so I am happy...

Don't ever feel silly. We've all had a million such experiences.

I STILL think my handles won't last with the pressure you have to use.....but there are a million of these exact set ups running around out there.
