Tellaro 2023/20L 200Ah Relion/Balmar UHG - coolant leak

Has anyone experienced this...

It was below 0 for days here in WI's eternal winter. Noticed pink puddle in the snow under the rig, directly under the UHG.

It was one of those WT* moments, it's cold as can be and this thing is leaking antifreeze. What have the Thor geniuses done to have this happen?

Too much snow to crawl under to find the leak, decided to wait for better conditions.

I know that Thor modified the coolant lines, adding a metal pipe - bent to clear the UHG pull (earlier models did not have this and cut the coolant hoses).

Now that it has warmed a bit (30-50's), the leak completely stopped (and I didn't notice it anytime this summer).

My theory is that the metal pipe they used contracts more than the surrounding rubber coolant hose, creating a loose fit and leak. I'm a bit hesitant to just crank down the clamps when it's too cold, as when it warms back up, they could be too tight...if there is such a thing. I'll do electrical stuff all day long, plumbing type stuff I suck at...so I'm a bit gun-shy.

Thoughts/experiences?

Ron

Your theory may be correct both the temp. contraction of the Pipe . Only real way to test it is pressurize the system & check for leaks . There are many tools out there to pressure test the Radiator & cooling system . You can probably rent one , not sure what is needed .

When it's hot out & I make a long drive , I sometimes get a hint of antifreeze smell , but the Expansion tank ? , is not losing level , so it may be just venting pressure , not sure , I see no leaks or puddles in the driveway .

My `23 Tellaro does the same thing. Dealer said just tighten the clamps. The clamps are not true automotive hose clamps. Thor cheaped out with hardware store clamps! Recently took a trip from NYS to TN for the holidays. The whole trip no drips. Van sit in the driveway for a week and now getting drips.

You and I (and many others - common issue on many forums) probably got the same person, the one with just enough strength to "almost" tighten the clamps.

Off to the auto store to get the right clamps.

Ron.

Mine dripped when it got down to 38, tighter clamps and no issue since.
