Oh, man. I had no idea that Canada had become that draconian. God bless you and protect you, Coveman

Texas statistics 21,200+ deaths, 7,114 deaths in the 80+ age category to CV-19. 752 people live in our retirement Village - average age 80 years and 2 months. 12 residents have contracted CV-19 - one death and 3 have serious lingering complications, 6 have completely recovered. Of our 220 employees, 29 have had CV-19 with 2 deaths. We test everyone that is not in independent living weekly and anyone that request a test.

Since March neither of us has been in a store or office of any kind. We order everything on-line and use no-contact pickup. Walmart and HEB (grocery chain) do not charge extra for no-contact pickup. We do drive the RV 200 miles every month and have become regular participants in the Friday night Red Lobster parking lot rally with the RV. We call in the order and the Red Lobster staff delivers the order to the RV. According to our Governor we should receive our vaccine in the first batch the week before Christmas and two weeks after the second shot out lives should return to the pre-CV-19 routine.

We have similar statistics in our area of Southern California. A few weeks ago, I reviewed the statistics for our county and found that over half of the fatalities have been people over 70 years of age equating, at that time, to a 14% fatality rate. Pretty similar to playing Russian Roulette with a six shot revolver.

That said, we do get out some with masks and reasonable precautions. We have been camping several times. Victoria is working from home and I have various projects to keep me busy. And, yes, I passed 70 several years ago.

Beau388, on another subject, I see you have a 61 Rampside as a toad. My daily ride is a 63 Greenbriar. Love to hear how the Rampside works for you. I would be a bit concerned about the rear axel bearings.

I hope that he is right!
When you get th shots: tell us all about it. I'm pretty sure that our idiot governor is going to delay the shipments to our state...

I bought the Rampside in 1985 and have put just over 160,000 miles on it. It was my daily transportation when I taught high school 34 miles from home. I have never had a rear wheel bearing failure, but I have spun an axle several times. I do carry a good a spare axle and yoke along with a yoke puller. It sits behind the seat with my pickup tool box. I do pull the axles about every 50,000 miles to clean and grease the bearings. I also have a one owner 1965 Corsa 316,000 miles) which has had 5 rear hubs replaced due to water in the bearings. I prefer to tow the Rampside as it is air conditioned with a gas heater, although I have towed the Corsa to conventions and shows.

By the way Beau is the name of our 1968 UltraVan with a build number of 388. Beau was our first class A coach.

Thanks, Rybie! Just spoke with her last night and she's in good spirit. My mom is pretty excited for us to come up in Taj the full time travel RV. When she was younger, she and my dad lived on a 39' Bayliner boat full time for many years. She loves that we semi-sorta follow in her footsteps <3, except she was was surf and we're turf. ha!

We are at 4% of the US testing Positive for CV currently and will increase based on the thousands of test per week

A rest home group we are familiar with has 26 locations and so far no deaths

The staff are tested bi-weekly and anyone entering from corporate or maintenance are rapid tested

Interestingly the best price on the shipped test was $70 each

Quite a tab the US is running up

On the original topic we just returned from a week on the road

Only a few campers in the parks and rest areas as well as on the hiway

Traffic was normal and cafes were at about 1/3 typical customers

Good trip to see grandkids and great grandkids who we hadn't seen since summer camp outs

We are from a large family, 16 uncles and aunts and hundreds of cousins

About 10 have had CV and luckily no deaths in the family

93 year old uncle in rest home currently recovering

Were heading out again right after the first of the year

Montana was doing great for a while. You can camp all over the state and be 10 to 50 feet from folks. We will start up again in May 2021 and State parks all over $8 or so!! Remember big sky mountains lakes all over!! Covid attached
