Need a wheel for 2016 axis 24.1

I need a wheel for a 2016 axis 24.1. Are the e350SD wheels the same. AMazon says Does NOT Fit E350 E450 Box Truck/Cutaways" ; OEM Tire Size: LT225/75R16 ; Color/Finish: Grey anyone know if the SD wheels will fit? any help appreciated.

That’s the wheel I have
I’ve never tried it on my E450, but have seen posts that it will NOT fit over the front brake calipers without scraping a bit.
So it’s been recommended that if you have that “gray” rim and get a front flat, replace the front with the outside rear, then replace the outside rear with the gray rim (and tire)

Amazon wheel fits the outside rear just fine.
The front caliper needs about an 1/8th ground off of the casting.
If you aren't able/capable/agreeable to grind the caliper:
1 Buy Amazon wheel.
2 mount Amazon wheel on outside rear.
3 mark Amazon wheel, in big letters: OUTSIDE REAR ONLY.
4 use original/ford wheel you removed, as a universal spare that fits any place you need it.
done.

This has worked fine for me for 30,000 miles.
I didn't bother to grind the caliper.

I think you may be using wrong terminology which may be causing confusion.

If by SD you mean Super Duty which many people assume to be pick-up trucks, then they won’t fit if wheels were manufactured for newer pickup trucks. Also, pickup trucks are “F” and not “E”, so pay attention to difference. There are people on this forum who often interchange these and it is a mistake.

A newer Ford dually pickup truck may be F-350, but its wheels WILL NOT FIT an Econoline-based E-350 or E-450.

Many years ago F-350 and E-350/450 wheels shared bolt/lug pattern, but that no longer applies. Additionally, Ford F-350 pickups no longer use 16-inch wheels, and now start at 17-inch diameter. That doesn’t matter anyway, because they won’t bolt up due to different bolt/lug pattern.

All E-350 and E-450 Cutaway and Stripped (used for Axis/Vegas) chassis use 6” wide by 16” diameter wheels with 8 lugs on 6.5-inch bolt diameter. Ford specs show load rating at 2,500 pounds minimum, and the center bore must be the correct size also. Additionally, lug holes must be the right size to match lug diameter.

Like I said, years ago Ford changed F-350 pickups to metric-dimension wheels and no longer uses the E-350/450’s 8X6.5 bolt pattern for pickup trucks. Lug diameter was also revised to metric dimensions.

If Amazon says it won’t fit, it probably won’t because they are talking about a different wheel.

If you link or provide specs on wheel you are considering, perhaps you will get better help.

By the way, Super Duty designation was also used on E-Series, so that in itself isn’t enough information. You need to be more specific to get it right.

I too wish to get a spare this spring and it's confusing the heck out of me. Wheels are not my strong suit and I'm relatively new to the E450's. Clear answers would help me too!

Exactly as Told by Mr Taylor who has actual experience and exactly as my usage was enumerated by me. I even included an alternate gray wheel solution.

If there is real fear of two of us who actually carry that spare and mine being actually INSTALLED FOR 30,000 MILES being incalcuably wrong, buy the $400 ford rim.

Some folks here just say things. It doesn't matter they have no EXPERIENCE with the topic. Be here a month and you'll figure out
I do vs I googled.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks and I have been reading as much as possible from as many forums as I can. I think I was a member here for a few posts but I had a computer glitch and lost many sites and passwords.
I'm leaning very strong on your suggestion. We all hope we never do get that blown tire but when we do, it's nice to be able to change it or call CAA (Canadian AAA) and have one at the ready for them when they arrive.
Just remember to mark that tire!

My gray wheel has 3 inch letters across it on both sides
'Outside dual only'.
I carry everything needed to change a flat.
I also have 4ish roadside plans.
If no one shows up I'll change the tire.
If tow truck guy is a missing a tool, I can cover it for him.
If tow truck guy is a tool, I can cover for him.

I can't control their abilities but I can control mine.
Practice removing a flat while in the comfort of your driveway.

In my signature thread;
Post 229, 244,219, 368, 797 relate to spare tires and associated tools.
797 is a 10,000pound rated electric jack/compressor combo.

Most posts have picture proofs.

I haven't had a flat on a driving vehicle since 1978. I still carry a spare. It isn't always about me. I've loaned 5+ spares during our travels.

No worries, I've wrenched many vehicles over my lifetime. I too have roadside and if I can't do it for whatever reason, the spare will be there for the service guy to change.

Rims

I purchased a rim from Amazon for my 2016 Vegas 25.4, when I was looking I used the rim information that is on the sticker with the tire and rim info and was able to get the right size. It fits the front and back.

Potential source for Reconditioned Steel Wheels

We purchased a reconditioned - spare wheel for our 2016 Axis 25.2 E-450 ... STL0387USTLO3872U40 ...
websitesales@wheelsandcaps.com
No doubt will be different for E-350 ... However, maybe worth looking at website. With shipping cost $59.29.
https://www.wheelstiresandmore.com/c...eel-wheel.aspx

We figured reconditioned would be fine for a spare.
Best Regards, James

I have a take-off wheel from my 2016 Vegas that I'd be happy to part with. Unfortunately with average-joe rates it may cost $50+ just in shipping.

I never saw your post. What exactly is a "take-off" wheel?

tttake offs are original wheels that have been replaced by aftermarket wheels.

As in:

"I took off my Thor wheels and installed aluminum 19.5 rims and tires"

Ah, I thought take off's sounded like "just like originals but not."
I'm still wanting to get a spare up here Canada but most places online are out of stock and I ain't paying $400+. I'm curious now if Jason977 still has a rim and what we could work out for a price.

Correct, I replaced my wheels with 19.5s. DM me your zip code and I'll see how much it would take to ship one your way.
