RV's that live in the south get chilled in the winter time. Someone needs to make a heated snuggle blanket that can cover the rv when it gets chilled in the winter

I guess it's not clear to me why you would need heat in a STORED coach? No freezable liquid in it? No people in it (on a regular basis)?

I MUST be missing something here?
In the PNW we have really wet, cool, dark winters. Proper winterizing your RV takes most concerns away when storing but moisture will accumulate inside a unit how, when and where it is stored. A simple heater on a low setting reduces the moisture within. Simple. Easy concept to overlook if you don't live in a wet, cool and dark area.

So are you a retired dentist or just happen to have an old dental cabinet. I retired from Oak Ridge National Lab and we had many of those old dental cabinets to store instruments and tools in. I had an office/lab combination and had two of those cabinets. Love them.

In that case, a dehumidifier might be a better solution? I think Ohio mimics the PNW in spring and fall. VERY wet, but not quite freezing - or maybe freezes occasionally. The difference is that Ohio turns into a mini Siberia in winter, so heating an unoccupied RV is pretty pointless here.

Heating creates an inside/outside temperature differential, which allows condensation to form. If allowed to accumulate in an RV, condensation is a great harbor for mold, and the moisture itself can cause structures to delaminate. Heat won't prevent or remove that moisture from the air, it just "relocates" it to a cooler area in the RV. The old maxim applies that "cool air doesn't hold moisture as well as hot air".

A dehumidifier condenses and collects that moisture. NOTE... there are many moisture collection products (DampRid, silica gel) which are containers specifically designed for RVs and boats. Silica gel containers can be "reactivated" and used for years.

I often run a dehumidifier in our RV during the "camping season", especially if we have a particularly wet spell. But I don't leave it on continuously - just a day or so at a time to remove the dampness.

I had never seen one before.
It was $400 and i passed.
Then I drove the 250mile round trip the next week and bought it.
It is the prettiest, best designed cabinet I've ever seen.
It had the build sheet in it, like vintage cars do.
It listed the options and the build date of 1946.
I'm building my whole workshop around this cabinet.
The white 'roaster' stand the fan is sitting on will be painted and outfitted to match the cabinet, one on each side, adding to the the cascade/waterfall effect of the cabinet.
Wall shelves have the black and stainless trim and the matching corner radius.

People say
Art deco style
When this is really
Streamline style.

Thanks for noticing.
The dental cabinet has the hidden popup concealed box in the top and has the easy release drawers which are perfect for taking specialty tool kits to the workplace .

My dilemma is picking jjust the right color. That horrible blue is growing on me.

Wink

I find it amusing that some are reluctant to use a portable space heater and yet nobody gets worried about putting hundreds of cheap electric lights on a drying out evergreen tree then plugging the thing in in the living room while we wait for Santa to come down a FIREPLACE chimney...

I'm just not sure about any heater being a problem, if it uses power that the circuit is made for and the plug it tight I wouldn't see a problem unless the cord is to light for the amps being used the cord could overheat but that's it. Unless Thor has a lose connection that could over heat. I was thinking an electric heater will heat the air but not remove moisture and by increasing the temperature now the air can hold more moisture. I would think a dehumidifier would work better and use the same power

There is, of course, the matter of choice or indulgence.
Some here have climate controlled garages to harbor their RV.

When in Lake Havasu City we kept the ac set at 85.
Just an indulgence.
We travel on the slightest of whim.
