Galveston, TX Ferry question?

We are going from Corpus Christi TX to Galveston TX.
LOOKS like you must take ferry or something over water from Galveston TX to New Orleans LA,?

Does anyone know ferry process..cost..schedule
Rv can get on. ?

I am sure an RV can get on, trucks do it all of the time. Don't know about costs.

But it is probably almost as fast just to head back on I45, go around the loop and catch I10 to New Orleans, or maybe take 146 through Texas City, La Porte and Baytown to I10.

Unless something since Covid has changed that short ferry ride is free.
I'd have also agree with David that unless you just want to take that 5 minute ferry ride that there's several better routes to take.
Once you get to Corpus Christi head to Port Aransas, load onto the ferry there to Aransas Pass then on to New Orleans.

From Galveston to New Orleans would be a very long ferry ride!
