2016 Vegas 25.2 windshield shade

The motorized shade in my Vegas will go down but not back up. If I reverse the wires it will go up when I press "down" on the switch but it will not go down if I press "up". Calling MCD was advised that I needed a new motor. Got that. Didn't help. I called them back and they said I need a new rocker switch. Got that. Didn't help. I get the beeps in ignition-on setup mode but once i lower it it wont raise. Does anyone have an idea of what I'm missing?

Can you use jumper wires directly from a 12v battery source to test the battery without any switches or bad wires in the way? Does the motor have 3 wires coming out of it?

Might be a short or one bad wire from the switch to the motor? I dont know this but im thinking it has 3 wires, one ground and TWO power (one for clock wise and one for counter clock wise)? I would have to research this. Others members will know more than I on this subject .... But I think it could be one bad wire to the motor from the switch?

Can you take a picture of the motor and wires and post for us?

You could check each wire indiviually with a multi meter to see if they are good too.

I will try to get photos. It makes sense that it's a bad wire (but it also made sense that it was a bad switch) ... acts the same with the new switch. I'll try to figure out how to jump it tomorrow.

It was a shorted wire. Good grief.
