axis windshield wiper motor

My 24.1 Axis windshield wiper and washer are not working, and think I might need at new motor. I checked forums and can't find a thread. Can I buy one easily and have installed?

What year is your Axis?

Early units had a defective washer pump which would blow the wiper fuse and cause exactly what you're describing.

I would first look for a blown fuse and fix that before buying a motor. (Once the fuse is replaced see if the wipers work and then try the washer--if it is the washer motor the second you hit the washer button everything will stop.)

2014, and yes, the wipers stop when I try to use the washer.

Yup its probably your washer motor.

Its a long shot but try contacting Thor they may warranty it (yeah I know you're about 5 years too late). They warrantied mine and just sent me the motor--I replaced it myself.

Do call Thor Customer Service. they may or may not repair it but they will be able to get you a parts list an diagram. My Hurricane had 2 recalls on the wipers and I found the repair instructions to dealers that included instructions and a complete parts list online but I can't find it now. But for sure check the fuses.

Thanks everyone. The wiper works now, but not the washer. Like everyone said, when I try the washer, it blows a fuse and nothing works. So, until I get settled in next week, I will live with the problem and not use the washer. jinxj
