Cannot Locate my Converter
Hello to the Forums,
Sorry to ask such a newbie question, but I am having problems with my house batteries not charging. Thor Outlaw 38MB 2022. I suspect that the converter is not applying power to charge the batteries. I want to measure its output but cannot locate it.
I am familiar with my distribution center which is located on the base of the master bed. But I believe my motorhome also has a deck mount type converter/charger like shown below. Can anyone suggest where this is located?
Thanks so much. I’m still learning about this motorhome.

Are you sure it is not integrated into the bottom of the power center?
If not, the external converter should be very near the power center.

Well, you still have your DC distribution buss in there so there should be at least a couple of heavy DC cables coming out of the back that you "should" be able to trace back to your converter.

That’s a great idea. I’ll look for that. Also just realized I can remove the distribution panel cover. So the converter could be there.
Thank you for the suggestions.

Be sure the "use/store" switch is set to "use" or if equipped with a factory battery disconnect that its "connected" otherwise the batteries won't be charging.
If by chance they sparked the battery cables to the wrong post the reverse polarity fuses on the converter may be blown.

Thanks everyone so much for the input and advise.
I finally found my converter, and it is the WFCO 9855 as shown above.
It was located right next to my distribution center, tucked in the corner of the master bed pedestal frame. Thanks for that great access panel, Thor to make it easy to reach my converter…..NOT!
Was able to test the voltage there and found that my converter was not working. Had to replace that & batteries started charging again.

Generally, external converters have two large reverse polarity fuses in them instead of in the fuse panel. Did you check those?

Hidden power panels
FYI, On my 2014 Palazzo 36.1 I plugged into a bad power supply and it blew out the contactor in the UPS transfer switch. I spent a couple of days looking for it by tracing power lines around the motorhome. I finally got in touch with the Thor support people and was told it was behind the distribution panels in the bed frame. I had to disassemble the bed frame because it was the only way to get to it. I want to think there were two devices there but I can't remember for sure. I contacted the manufacturer and they overnighted me a new one. I only had to return the old one and no charges. I also now plug in a to power tester on the line before I plug in.
