Co alarm on 2023 Thor Scope
I can't figure out why our CO alarm continues to "Fault" (according to the flash sequence) It's just parked in the driveway and nothing is even on to cause it to trip. Starting up the van seems to make it stop which makes me think battery but that seems a weird connection.

Not a weird connection, it's the battery low voltage alarm on the detector. Charge your house batteries.

There's also no guarantee that the detector hasn't failed. While they are supposed to have a several year life, it could have been on the shelf for years before being installed. The CO/propane detector in the omni failed on day 2. Got it replaced before leaving town.

Thank you. I believe I have finally made the connection. When we bought the walk thru guy told us to always leave the dial on the the wall of the counter in the on position. Which would be inaccurate information and drains the battery. Incompetence on his part, ignorance on mine. Hopefully the batteries aren't toast.

"Walk through guys/gals" are largely idiots at a dealership who know very little about what they are supposed to be explaining. I have seen the rare exception but even when just looking at a vehicle, I usually know more than the sales person. Hey we all started somewhere in the information food chain. Every "meal" prepares us for the next encounter. Most people in the forums are helpful but be careful because the advice you get is worth every $$$ you paid.

I'm a weirdo......I added 2 extra smoke and CO detectors to our coaches sleeping area. We now have 4 total front to rear.
Maybe I'm not such a weirdo. When I used to fly, a couple planes had 3 redundant (critical) instruments. The 3rd to act as a tie breaker. In an RV it could be cheap life insurance.

That's NOT weird in my book... that's smart.
Note to the O.P. - After you verify/charge/replace your house batteries, when leaving the coach unused for extended periods ALWAYS disconnect the batteries using the use/store battery disconnect switch. The ONLY time you need it ON is if you're "using" the coach.

Not familiar with MHs battery connections, but on towables the battery disconnect does not disconnect all the parasitic drains resulting in a dead battery in about a week. The CO/LP detector is wired dramatically to the batteries bypassing the disconnect along with some electric slide motors & other items. The only 100% disconnect to prevent dead batteries is to remove the negative cable from the battery going directly to ground or add a disconnect of some type to that cable.
If there are smaller gauge wires connected to any of the batteries most likely whatever is powered by those wires is not disconnected by through the USE/STORE switch & will drain the the batteries eventually.
