Happy Camper???

I have been disappointed with Happy Camper. No improvement after soaking 5 days in warm weather

What is it you are wanting it to do? I use it occasionally when I’ll be storing my coach for a few weeks at a time. I always keep some water in the tanks when it’s not winterized and I think this stuff helps to break down organic materials. I’ve never noticed anything dramatic though.

None of the typical tank treatments are going to do much after the fact

If you're looking at long term then something like RidX but it has to be mixed, not just dumped in for faster results

I tried happy camper.
Not a fan.
It's ordinary.

Smell is never a problem for us but we've tried lots of products because product is probably needed.
Right now we're using

Tide detergent pods.
They seem to work as well as anything else.

We have no problems so there isn't a better for us.
All are adequate so far.

Instead of soaking in it for 5 days, maybe try using it in your black tank.

Are you trying to use the product for something it’s not intended to do?

Per their literature it is primarily intended to reduce odor.

They make a separate product to clean out the tank and sensors.

California has banned the use of Happy Camper products which contain certain chemicals. Specifically, these chemicals kill beneficial bacteria which inhibit solid waste from breaking down. The unprocessed solids then pass THROUGH waste treatment facilities without being broken down, which prevents further composting.

Although it may sound offensive to some, I think educating oneself about basic processing of human waste is a necessity... it protects you AND others who are affected by your actions as an RV user.

Your black tank IS NOT a processing center like a residential septic system. Those who have septic systems and wells understand this. Understanding what happens downstream from your "effluent emissions" is key to understanding what is most beneficial for your black tank.

Happy camping!!

I have found nothing that states that "California has banned the use of Happy Camper products", but California has banned the use of formaldehyde. Happy Camper is not formaldehyde nor contains formaldehyde.

HAPPY CAMPERS RV Holding Tank Treatment - 18 Treatments https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XEFADU...ing=UTF8&psc=1

Scroll down to "Legal disclaimer"... States "Does not ship to California".

It likely contains proprietary ingredients made from chemicals on California's banned list.

Been using Happy Camper for the past year. No complaints what so ever. It does appear to break down the waste. It is not a deodorizer

Same here. We have used nothing but Happy Camper, and it works very well for us.

i have a big container of it and will continue to use it until it is gone. I read a report about formaldehyde. It seems that it did effect the septic systems of RV parks along with some ending up in ground water. Perhaps California was being proactive and not wanting the stuff in Happy Camper ending up in ground water as well. That being said, if formaldehyde or Happy Camper can end up in ground water do to leaking septic systems, well who wants to drink the ground water that should also contain....
