Refrigerator gas issue

Gas light will not come on without electricity plugged in.

Status of house batteries and USE/STORE switch?

Sounds like no 12 VDC control power unless supplied by converter.

Year/Make/Model of RV may get you more targeted answers.

As Ace noted, inverter or converter has to be on

Check to see if the light in the fridge comes-on when the door is open. If it doesn't, you have no 12 volt power to the fridge. The fridge uses 12 volt DC to run the control circuity for the propane. As others have said it probably the master house battery disconnect.

My light inside did not go on. My 30 years RV tech told me to turn off the refrigerator. Then place any liquid or 2 bottles of water in refrigerator.
It worked..he said absorption at times needs something to cool. My outside temp was very hot and refrigerator compressor was hot.
This also could have been an issue

I have a remote reading thermometer in the freezer compartment. A couple days before we leave, I go out to the coach level it, put the slides out, start both A/Cs and start the empty fridge. Since we have a 50 amp pedestal at the parking spot, the fridge runs off the converter (12 volt) and the 120 volt circuit. On a 75 F degree night, it only 12 hours to get the empty freezer down to 20 F degrees (thermostat on #4).
