roof bedroom manual fan lid wont seal

the black knob raises and lower the lid fine but it wont go low enough to seal. it then flaps in the wind. the knob just spins with no resistance. The identical front coach fan lid seals normally. Help?

I think macdaddy is on the right track but that may not be the right part for your vent.

Without knowing what Year/Make/Model RV you have or what vent/fan you have we can't help much further but I had the same issue with one of my vent/fan lids and had to replace a stripped gear in the lid lifting assembly.
