I have a 2009 Four Winds Chateau Sport 28 a. I need to remove some of the floor and replace the rotting wood. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of frame my RV has. And if anyone has suggestions on how to handle this problem. The floor is rotting by the toliet so it is going to be a project. We are now full time in the RV. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
Welcome to the forum.. Contact Thor, they may be able to provide some information. The framing and support will probably become more obvious as you remove the damage. Always take photos as you go.. I had a shower leak and floor damage to repair on a 1990 RV, it went much better than I expected initially.
I removed all flooring and framing with any damage and replaced. Some edge material was hard to get to. I used MinwaX WOOD HARDENER to liberally coat those areas. it's thin and soaks in, turns the wood to plastic. Good long term results (still good 5-6 years later when I traded the RV)
There is also an epoxy called "Git Rot" that has a good reputation, but-I've never used it.
Hi everyone, we just bought a 1999 Thor Tahoe that has some nasty water damage along the back wall. Basically, we are rebuilding the entire back wall of the camper...
Does anyone know where I might be able to get a diagram of the framing detail so that we can get all the measurements correct? We are located in West Fargo ND so I looked on Thor's website; there are no email addresses only websites for dealerships in Indiana...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
