Thor Four Winds Siesta Manual Awning

Can someone please assist and show me how to set up my manual awning for my 2006 Four Winds Siesta? I know how to use the retractor hand rod, but have no clue how to get the stabilizing poles out of the awning, which is used in stabilizing the RV. Without the poles, my awning output is extended but not stable. I have read several manuals for the manual extension and they all refer to untying the side posts. My awning post extensions are under the awning fabric

Stabilizing the RV?

Untying the side posts is for the velcro "travel lock".
