We had a tow dolly that steered way back when we had the Class C. Never had them loosen up after tightening them for a second time. Did have one strap tare though. Thankfully it never snapped. We were able to get one ordered and in before we had to take off six weeks later. Visiting family back east at the time. With a steering dolly you must lock it prior to putting your car on it. Once set and strapped you release lock so it can turn.

A note about a steering tow dolly. The roads pounded it well and I had to realign it three times on out trip. Noticed it the first time when I saw the excessive tire ware. I watched for wear closely at each stop.

Your mention of a torn strap illustrates exactly why it's so worth it ; to check them at each stop,..

That is exactly what we did. Got two for the road back home. Murphy Law, if you don't, you will need it. If you do, you will not!

Good choice!
It's better to have them and not need them: than need them and not have them!

Usually load the Kr Kaddy 3 the night before. Need to retighten the staps in the moring before shoving off and recheck again before entering the interstate about 12 miles later. That usually does it but I do recheck at every fuel or rest stop.
