Not likely your problem...

...my slide was making a funny rubbing noise (particularily in the early going) and just recently a lens for an overhead light fell out --it was under one side of the bed. It must have been on the cushion and got caught up (no lens are missing in the ceiling of my unit so it could only have been caught up on construction) so now I have a spare;-)
I have also learned to open windows and the door while retracting or extending the slide...that really cuts down on the labouring noise. Nancy
