Maybe I'm dense but this is what I understand so far:

You had a short functioning toilet but it was too short so you replaced it with a tall toilet.

The tall toilet now has a problem that you can't fix so you want to go back to the original toilet; but you want to raise it so the seat height is similar to a tall toilet.

It that is the case I would easily replace the tall toilet with another tall toilet long before I started messing around with the flange and entry into the black tank and building a platform for a short toilet.

I can not verify how your flange is installed, but when I did a cargo trailer conversion last year with a black tank and toilet the flange went through the floor into the top of the black tank through a rubber seal. The flange was supported by being screwed into the floor. If that is the case with your installation it would be easy to unbolt the flange and pull it out to remove it. The hard part would be installing the replacement flange through the two holes in the platform and floor and then blindly through the rubber sealing flange correctly so it doesn't leak.
