Off hitch receiver is relatively easy. I wouldn't want it on roof for many reasons, including not wanting to add extra weight that high. RVs already have handling issues because center of gravity is so high, so why make it worse.

Since your ACE is on the F53 chassis, I don't think a spare will fit directly up between the frame rails unless you can get the tire to engage into the "C" channel. I'd measure that closely before spending much money buying a spare to mount between frame rails.
