Every thing is different with the TXT Elites and the RXV Elites, that is why there are 50% more expensive the the standard models. To get a fast charge on the 3.0 model does require 240 volts, but the RV 50 amp (NEMA 14-50) can be used by the rapid charger A good reconditioned three to five year old TXT with new batteries and rebuilt 30 amp charger will run 3-5 thousand. We paid an extra $200 to get the 19.9 mph motor. The Elites will recharge in about 3.5 hours from nearly dead where as the flooded deep cycle batteries take about 6 hours to recharge from when discharge to 60%. Again my cart has a three stage 30 amp charger (12 amps @ 120 volts) so the last 20% of the charge takes about 2 hours.

Factor in the 300-400 more pounds of all those batteries also...the hills become steeper.

Forget all that and just get a Chevy Bolt, can still use the 50A plug at the campground to charge up the car (granted it will take a few more hours using a Level 2 charger--about 9 hours if the car is completely empty to full at 238 miles). (I charge up my C-Max using the 50A plug.)

It will go on any road so you can use it in more places than a golf cart. Yeah yeah ok it costs about 10x as much as a golf cart...at least it doesn't cost as much as a Tesla

(Ok full disclosure: next car after the C-Max will be a Bolt.)

We have a 2008 ez-go RXV electric and love it. 18 miles on one charge and you are using the camp ground electric. No exhaust smell entering the cart, no camp ground telling you no gas carts allowed. Plus we use it around the neighborhood when were not camping.

But when you look at the "Lithium Models": that shrinks to maybe... 50 pounds difference in weight?
Granted: they're about 2 grand more...

Does anybody know if the Lithium battery-powered carts have a longer range; before requiring "plug-time"?

The lithium battery models actually weigh about 300 lbs less than conveniential batteries. They are maintenance free and have a 5 year warranty on the battery. Slightly longer range.

The Elites come with 4 - 12 volt 50 AH, 4 - 12 volt 75 AH or 4 -12 volt 100 AH lithium batteries. Price of $10,900 for the RXV model with the 3.0 AH battery pack. All the running gear is the same in the electric RXV. Only the batteries and charger as different. Of course you can run lithiums down to near zero without damage but flooded batters should not go below 50% charge for long life.

Personally I like the electric, but whichever you choose get the back seat. Unless you are a golfer & need the the club holder, it's worthless for anything else.
As for electric, mine is 36 volt & drive it all the time & charge it all night once sometimes twice a week.

Thanks! Can you give an estimate as to your range on a single charge?

Dude, I have no idea what you're talking about. All I asked is the pros and cons of each type.

I just happened to find an 48 v electric cart in excellent condition for a great price.

Bought a used 2009 Club Car 48V. Added rearview mirror, windshield and lights for night driving. Also bought a small trailer from Lowes to haul around. So far works great. I have come to hate gas powered "whatever". I find myself repairing more gas powered equipment than actually using it. Whether its a lawn mower, chainsaw or weed wacker, I have migrated over to battery powered equipment where possible.

The trouble with gasoline engines: the gasoline!
It breaks down into crap so quickly...
We're looking more at the battery-powered versions, so that we're not forced to add fuel stabilizer to them...

RV...pun intended...you'll love the E-Z-Go. They make a plate/cover that goes across the back (if you have the rear seat set-up) that covers the hole left for golf cart bags. it gives you a secret compartment to store a cooler or personal item out of sight. I'll post a picture here if I can figure out how.

[QUOTE Thanks! Can you give an estimate as to your range on a single charge?[/QUOTE]
Mine is a 36 volt with six 75AH NAPA golf cart batteries. Six 100 AH deep cycle 6 volt batteries will fit in the battery compartment. The battery gauge has eight lights on it for charge indications. I recharge mine when it fourth light from the top comes on. I use it to go to lunch each day (1/3 mile each way) and a couple times a week to dinner. It has LED lights, turn signals, bake lights, fan Wink rear view mirror and Door Works full weather cover. If the weather is nice I take it to the RV lot to work on the Hurricane. It 1.1 miles up the road but still in the village. I charge it every two weeks. Fortunately there are so many golf carts here that we have our own repair technician. Rubin comes by the times a week to repair and upgrade the carts. To answer your question, I suspect the range is about 10 miles on 50% battery usage.
