Change to a DC TV

I would like to swap out the AC TV in the main area to a DC tv/dvd combo, anyone know if a DC circuit is behind existing TV mount?

Thanks,
Tim

There isn't. But for the price of a DC TV/DVD combo unit you could buy a replacement smart TV and a good Inverter to power more than just one TV.

It's interesting that you bring this up, as our 2014 Thor Palazzo diesel pusher coach, with a 2000watt whole house Inverter, had a 12v JENSEN tv in the bedroom, but we had nothing else 12v anywhere else in the coach, nothing(meaning no other TVs or devices as such, of course we had 12v lighting, fans, and the usual). The interesting thing about the setup, too, is that the tv 'mount' had a 120v outlet behind it : ) Well, needless to say, the Jensen 12v TV has always worked just fine, and whether we ever 'needed' it as a 12v unit, or not, it didn't really matter since we always had 120v power thru the inverter. A typical 32" tv would have been much less cost for the factory, too.

now, as for your situation, don't worry about 'buying' or replacing your current perfectly good TV with something else, just go to the big box store, saunter back to the tire/battery section, and pick up even the SMALLEST of plug-in Power Inverters. You simply plug the 12v round end into your battery supply, usually one of your outlets at the dash area, and plug the TV into the Power Inverter(or use an extension cord to reach it)...

works like a charm, and your TV / DVD is not using much power, regardless.

Of course, you'll see a lot of other Power Inverter options on the shelf, like the type which have alligator clips to go directly from your battery bank, but I wouldn't worry about such an expensive and elaborate setup just to watch 'tv'. : )
